Revalidation awareness training for Nurses and Midwives

Whilst revalidation is the responsibility of nurses and midwives themselves, this course outlines the revalidation process. It will explain the process and what evidence the Nursing and Midwifery Council requires in order for nurses and midwives to successfully revalidate.

Course Curriculum

At the end of the session individuals will:

  • Know what revalidation is and their role within this process
  • Have an awareness of the aims of revalidation
  • Be aware of where the NMC Code fits within the revalidation process
  • Have an awareness of the revalidation requirements including:
  • Practice Hours
  • Continuing Professional Development
  • Practice-related feedback
  • Written reflective accounts
  • Reflective discussion
  • Health and character
  • Professional indemnity arrangements
  • Confirmation
  • Know how the revalidation process will work in practice
  • Be able to discuss the anticipated benefits of revalidation
  • Be aware of how to prepare for revalidation and their next steps in this process
